New Carl Moller Scholarship Program announced

The Yale Police Department is accepting applications for the new Carl Moller Scholarship Program. Any Connecticut high school student interested in a Law Enforcement career can apply. Five $1,000 scholarships are being offered. The submission deadline is Monday, March 1, 2021. Please submit applications to Chief Ronnell Higgins by email to roxanne.dalton@yale.edu.
Applicant Requirements:
- Must be in the senior year of study and currently enrolled in an accredited high school program in Connecticut.
- Must be applying for admission to a degree program at an accredited post-secondary institution of higher learning.
- Must need financial aid and without such aid would find it difficult although not necessarily impossible to obtain education.
- Must submit properly completed forms and letters to his/her police chief by March 1, 2021.
Award Stipulation:
- Awards to be used for tuition, fees, texts, supplies and other necessary academic purposes.
- Awards conditioned upon substantiation of admission and expenses.
- A check for $1,000 to be given to each winner following submission of appropriate documents.
How winners are selected:
- Each police chief in Connecticut will select the applicants from those submitted in his department and send the applicant’s completed forms to the Connecticut Police Foundation by April 1, 2021.
- Scholarship winners will then be selected by the Foundation’s Awards Committee.
- Winners will be selected on the basis of financial need and dedication to a career in law enforcement.
- Winners will be announced in May.
- Actual award will be made in June each year at the CPCA Annual Meeting.
