Officers Ride to September 11 Crash Sites to Honor the Lives Lost

September 8, 2023

Sergeant Michael Dominique and Officer Roberto Arango joined other police departments across the country to provide motorcycle escort service to honor those who died on Sept. 11, 2001.

Hosted by America’s 911 Foundation, 35 departments and 87 police motor officers participated in this year’s annual ride, escorting more than 430 civilian motorcycles to Shanksville, PA; the Pentagon; and the World Trade Center memorial sites.

Officer Arango said the long rides were rewarded when he met “some of the best people from around the country.”

Sergeant Dominique said it was important for him to participate in the event so no one forgets the memory of 9/11.

According to its website, America’s 911 Foundation’s goals are to commemorate the events that occurred on September 11, provide scholarships to children of active duty first responders, and provide assistance to departments and agencies.
