Susan Riggs

Susan Riggs is the Assistant Vice President for Human Resources Operations. In this role, she is responsible for leadership of the Employee Services Center, HR Operational Services, Office of Faculty Support, and HR Innovation and Strategic Support (HRISS). She began her career at Yale in 2006 as an Assistant Administrator in the Department of Surgery. In 2008, she joined HR as Human Resources Generalist and over the years provided Human Resources support and leadership in many areas, including the Yale School of Medicine and the officer units.

Prior to coming to Yale, Susan worked for Spherion Staffing, initially managing on-site placement offices including Birkenstock in Novato, California and Harvard University. She then moved to area management of offices in California and Massachusetts. Susan has a bachelor’s degree in English and Speech Communications from the University of Richmond in Virginia.

Susan is a member of the DiversAbility at Yale (DAY) group. She is also a tutor and board chair at New Haven Reads.
