To the Yale Community,
I write to let you know of a robbery that occurred this evening at approximately 6:05 PM near 89 Bristol Street. A person was robbed and assaulted with a handgun while completing the sale of a cell phone facilitated via the Offer Up App. The victim met two unknown males described as being in their late teens to twenties at 89 Bristol Street. The victim displayed his phone while seated in his vehicle. An offender grabbed the phone, struck the victim with a handgun, and the two fled on Bristol Street, through the rear yards toward Frances Hunter Drive. No physical injuries were reported, and the victim declined medical treatment. The New Haven police are investigating. The Yale Police Department is working closely with the New Haven Police Department to identify the individuals responsible for the robbery.
