A message from Chief Ronnell A. Higgins
To the Yale Community,
I write to let you know that an attempted robbery occurred this evening at approximately 6:20 pm in the vicinity of 4 Bristol Street and the Farmington Canal pathway. A teen reported that he was encircled by a group of 9-12 teenaged boys on bicycles. They taunted him, demanding money or other property. A member of the group then stuck the victim. Physical injuries were reported and the victim is seeking medical assistance. Yesterday a similar incident occurred on the New Haven Green at approximately 7 pm. The victim, a member of the Yale Community, reported that he was stuck in the face but did not report any physical injuries. The New Haven police are investigating both incidents.

You may also send an anonymous text tip through our Live Safe app. There has been an increase in robberies in the area and Yale Public Safety is working collaboratively with the New Haven Police to address the issue.
