Yale Transit provides accessible transportation to members of the Yale community within the geographic area designated as in bounds on the Transportation Boundaries map (see the “At a Glance” section of the Yale Transit website). Accessible Transit generally does not operate to or from locations outside the inbounds service area (with exceptions for certain activities that are approved by the applicable accessibility office). Accessible Transit does not operate to and from individual out of bounds home addresses.

To participate in the Accessible Transit program, community members must apply at the applicable accessibility office:

Only an approved rider and one accompanying guest can use Accessible Transit. Misuse may result in suspension from the program.

Once approved, riders should generally request rides using the Yale Accessible Transit app. For exceptions to using the Yale Accessible Transit app to request rides, community members should work with the appropriate accessibility office. Once an exception to using the Yale Accessible Transit app is approved, Yale Transit staff will coordinate with the dispatch center to facilitate the rider requesting trips.

  • Download the Yale Accessible Transit app for iPhone or Android. You can find the app under Yale Accessible Transit on the iOS App store or the Google Play store.
  • Download instructions for navigating the app.
  • Riders with approved exceptions to using the Yale Accessible Transit app can call dispatch at 203-281-5470 – Prompt #1
