Debit Parking
Unless you know that you will park your car on campus every day, you might get more value from purchasing daily debit parking permits. Daily parking gives you the flexibility to make more choices about how you commute to campus each day.
To Purchase Debit Parking Permits:
- Email the Parking Office at parking@yale.edu to request debit parking. Staff will help you choose the most convenient available lot. If you’re transitioning from a monthly permit and want to keep your current lot assignment, that’s often possible.
- The office will send you a payment link to purchase your desired number of parking days (debits).
- Once purchased, the days will be loaded onto your Yale ID card. Simply swipe your card at the entry reader to access the parking lot.
- To add more days, use the same link to make an additional payment.
Receive your Free Daily Parking
For carpool and vanpool participants
Upon successful registration, your carpool or vanpool will automatically receive 6 free one-day parking stays per month to be shared among all passengers.
For transit riders
- Monthly pass holders qualify for 3 free daily parking stays per month.
- 10-ride pass holders qualify for 1 free daily parking stay per month.
Complete the Free Parking Passes for Transit form to have your parking stays loaded onto your Yale ID card. Once you have registered, you will need to prove your continued transit use each year in January and July. Simply resubmit the form with a copy of that month’s transit pass (or receipt) attached, to ensure that you still qualify.
For questions, including free parking permits for vanpool participants, please contact the Parking Office at 203-432-9790.
Event Parking
If your department is planning an event or expecting a guest speaker, the Parking Office does offer guest parking to select locations based on availability. To request this service, please fill out the Request for Service form, and a representative from the Parking Office will follow up with additional details.
