Mission

We provide high-quality services, stewardship, and leadership to enable Yale’s mission of changing the world.

Vision

Central Finance is guided by our North Star: To enable Yale’s mission, simplify and standardize financial services in order to make life easier where everyone has a role in building a strong culture of financial integrity, insight and stewardship of Yale resources.

Values

  • We Care — Display compassion, kindness and respect in order to support the well-being of the community while advancing the university mission. Our work is important to the success of the university and the wellbeing of everyone is important to our overall success.
  • We Lead by Example — Be a model for others in what and how our work is accomplished. Actions speak louder than words. We cannot expect others to do something that we are unwilling to do ourselves.
  • We Have the Courage to Get Better Daring to take action toward a worthy objective in the face of perceived difficulty or risk. Finance team members are open to – and seek out – new ways of working and speak up for what they believe is the right thing for Yale.

Strategic Priorities & Initiatives

  • OneFinance — This multi-year initiative will enable Yale’s mission by simplifying and standardizing financial services in order to make life easier where everyone has a role in building a strong culture of financial integrity, insight and stewardship of Yale resources.
  • Integrated Source to Pay Project (IS2P)—The Yale Procurement process has historically been highly manual, with opportunities for improving transparency and controls. As a result, Procurement has launched the Integrated Source to Pay (IS2P) project. IS2P is seeking to optimize and improve the end-user experience, while increasing our ability to deliver greater savings and risk mitigation to the University. The IS2P project is part of the OneFinance initiative.
