Janet Gipson leads Talent Acquisition at Yale University, overseeing the strategy, operations, and systems that drive staff hiring across the institution. She directs a team of professionals dedicated to delivering a thoughtful, data-informed, and inclusive hiring experience in support of Yale’s mission of research, teaching, and service.
Janet brings a distinctive background to her role, having previously held leadership positions in sales engineering, business development, and marketing—including serving as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at DISH Network. She applies a marketing-forward lens to recruiting, recognizing that how we attract, engage, and retain talent is central to institutional success.
With academic foundations in mathematics, engineering, and business, Janet takes a systems-thinking approach to workforce planning and hiring innovation. She believes that great hiring is a shared responsibility—and partners closely with leaders across Yale to design hiring experiences that reflect both institutional excellence and individual potential.
A dedicated community member, Janet serves on the board of New Haven Reads and holds active membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She is a frequent speaker on the future of work, inclusive hiring practices, and the evolving role of AI in recruitment.
