Joe joined Yale in March of 2016 as the University’s Associate Director of Labor Relations for Local 35, Police, and Security. In July of 2020, Joe was promoted to Director of Labor Relations, and in 2023, he became Senior Director of Labor Relations. As of 2025, Joe now oversees labor relations and best practices in his new role as Head of Union Management Relations, overseeing day-to-day labor relations for all university departments and their collaboration with management partners. Before beginning his tenure at Yale, Joe served in a number of labor relations roles, including the Director of Labor and Employee Relations for Brown University (2006-2011) and the Deputy/Acting Director of Labor Relations for the City of Boston (2003-2006). Joe holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University, and a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Suffolk University.
