Ge Yan was appointed the Associate CIO, FAS and SEAS at Yale in March 2025. In this role, he provides strategic partnership and oversees the IT operations supporting Yale Faculty of Arts and Sciences, School of Engineering and Applied Science, and associated units.
Prior to joining Yale ITS, Ge served as the CIO and Executive Director of Digital Technologies at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, where he led the school’s digital transformation strategy across education, research, and administrative functions. At Kelley, Ge led major IT modernization initiatives, including Gen AI integration, infrastructure upgrades, IT services modeling, CRM implementations, cloud migrations, instructional design and technology, cybersecurity enhancements, agile software development, and data analytics platforms. He managed cross-functional teams and strategic projects to improve operational efficiency and stakeholder engagement.
Ge began his career in higher education information technology at Temple University and the University of Minnesota, where he led enterprise system implementations, data warehouse projects, and CRM integrations.
Ge holds an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, and both M.S. and B.S. degrees in Computer Science from Temple University. He is on track to complete his Ed.D. in Instructional Technology from Indiana University. Ge is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Certified Scrum Master. He is a published author and actively conducts research on innovative instructional technologies and learning environments.
