Lisa Maloney

Internal Communications Officer

Lisa M. Maloney joined the Office of Administration in 2007 as a Project Manager. Her first major project was being part of the team responsible for transitioning the former Bayer Pharmaceutical property into Yale’s West Campus. This included working with a diverse group of departments on the various aspects of the transition including, developing a website, communications channels, putting together several working committees and creating a sense of community. After that project’s completion, she moved back to central campus and was promoted to Associate Director of Media Strategy and Project Management for Administration. In this role, Lisa is responsible for developing, maintaining and upgrading the various Administration websites, developing and publishing internal communications and social media across a wide range of departments including the Yale Police Department, Housing, Transportation Options, Support Services and Printing and Publishing as well as managing several projects for the various Administration directors. In 2013, Lisa developed the Eli Surplus Exchange which is a university-wide sustainability platform created to encourage reuse of items within the Yale Community–over 3000 items have been exchanged through this program. In 2017, Lisa joined the new Yale Internal Communications Team as a Communications Officer. 

Lisa started working at Yale University in 1996 and has held positions at the School of Nursing, School of Architecture, the Tercentennial Office and the Office of the Secretary. Prior to her career at Yale, Lisa worked at BIC Sport, USA, Inc where she was their Trade Show and Communications Manager. She holds an M. S. in Organizational Leadership from Quinnipiac University and a B. A. in Communications with a minor in English from Albertus Magnus College. In April 2016, Lisa was awarded a Certificiate of Outstanding Recognition from the Yale Office of Sustainability for her work developing and stewarding the Eli Surplus Exchange Program.In November 2016, she received the distinguished Linda Koch Lorimer Award as part of a year-long team project combining 47 websites and over 5000 pages of content into one website.  During off hours, Lisa is an avid road cyclist and mountain biker, and Liv USA Ambassador for the State of CT; she is active in several animal rescue groups and enjoys spending time with her husband Tom and their dog Benji.
