May 12 turned out to be a beautiful spring day for the Long-Service Recognition Dinner. For only the second time in recent years, the cocktail hour was held in Beinecke Plaza. It was a warm start to the evening where John Whelan, vice president for Human Resources, welcomed the guests and President Salovey toasted their dedication to Yale—a combined total of 10,040 years of service. During the dinner, which was provided by Yale Hospitality, there was a running slideshow of the 2022 honorees, and a video that honored the three staff members celebrating their 50-year anniversaries. This was the first time in five years that the dinner was held in Commons, following the pandemic and the renovation of The Schwarzman Center.
