A message from Chief Ronnell A. Higgins
To the Yale Community,
I write to update you on a Yale Alert that was sent at 10:31 PM on Friday, November 13th.
At 10:12 PM, officers responded to the report of a person shot in the area of Crown and Park Street.
The New Haven police identified a victim of apparent gunshot wounds. The victim, who is not a member of the Yale community, was subsequently transported by private car to Yale New Haven Hospital for his injuries. The victim of the shooting is listed in critical condition.
The New Haven Police Department Investigative Services Major Crimes as well as the Bureau of Identification responded to the scene.
This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
The New Haven police are continuing their investigation.
