Two More Members of Yale Police Department are Thanked
October 17, 2014
Sergeant Marnie Robbins-Hoffman and Assistant Chief Steve Woznyk were recently surprised and thanked for their work with the SHARE Center.
Members of the Yale Police Department (YPD) are often out in the community meeting with different groups. Recently Assistant Chief Woznyk and Sergeant Marnie Robbins-Hoffman hosted the Walden Peer Counselors. The discussion, which was during a pizza dinner, was geared toward an overview of the YPD and its capabilities with respect to the service it provides to the Yale community. Assistant Chief Woznyk said “these are extraordinary individuals, they dedicate their time to benefit others. It was a pleasure to host this meet and greet”.
It was such a good exchange that SHARE Director Carol Goldberg immediately sent a thank you note saying “how we enjoy our strong alliance and deeply appreciate being so welcoming to us all.”
Marnie and Steve were quite humbled by the surprise visit, gifts and recognition. Chief Ronnell Higgins was there to thank them personally. These folks are so busy that a fake meeting was setup to get them in one room. Thinking they were not prepared for this last minute meeting, they were both happy and a bit relieved after the surprise!
The YPD is an important part of the Yale Community and their work goes on 24/7. It was nice to be able to take a moment to recognize two hard working, dedicated members.
Congratulations Steve and Marnie, well deserved! And special thanks to Roxanne Dalton for helping with the surprise and meeting setup!
