Mail Service Team at the Medical School Receives Thanks
March 2, 2015

Three members of Yale Mail Service Medical School recently received a surprise team #outofthebluethanks. Gerry Apuzzo, Support Services Manager was there to thank them for their outstanding service to the university and pass out special #outoftheblue bottles. Shirley Brockington, Peggy Nelson and Craig Green sort and deliver mail for the entire Medical School side of campus. Shirley and Peggy were a little stunned by the surprise visit but happy to pose for a photo and open their gift. Craig who received his gift the following day was happy to be recognized. Recently Mail Service Manager Mike Madera wrote a piece on the History of Mail Service at Yale which garnered many compliments. This group was truly surprised and appreciative of the kind words and gift!
Yale Administration has implemented a new program to engage and thank staff members. This new program called #outofthebluethanks was launched in July and since that time we’ve recognized over 40 individuals for their outstanding service. These mini-ceremonies are preceded by a letter or phone call complementing a staff member for a job well done.
