Yale Police Officers Sell Donuts, Collect Tips in Support of Special Olympics

April 19, 2017

Support Special Olympics by Tipping a Cop! Yale University Police Officers will hold a Tip-A-Cop Event, Friday, April 21st, at Donut Crazy, 290 York Street, New Haven, CT from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. selling donuts and collecting tips—all of which will go to support Special Olympics Connecticut.

Yale Police officers will work behind the scenes at the Donut Crazy to solicit donations for Special Olympics of Connecticut. Donut Crazy is also designing two specialized donuts for the event; one specific to Law Enforcement, as well as a donut for Special Olympics!  Donut Crazy will graciously be donating a portion of their daily proceeds to this great cause!

In past years, the Yale University Police Department has raised approximately $3,500 for Special Olympics of Connecticut through various events, and the officers hope to exceed that amount this year! The Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them the opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

If you are unable to make a donation, please bring your friends and family and come out and support us! If you are unable to attend, but would like to donate, please make Checks payable to Special Olympics Connecticut, and send them to Yale University Police Department, Attn: Sergeant Sabrina Wood, 101 Ashmun Street, New Haven, CT 06511.

For more information, contact Sergeant Sabrina Wood at 203-432-4400 or sabrina.wood@yale.edu.
