Yale Adopts Web Accessibility Policy
January 24, 2018
In the spirit of a more accessible Yale, Policy 1605, the Web Accessibility Policy was recently adopted. Yale is committed to making information, programs and activities on its websites and web applications accessible to people with disabilities.
Effective March 1, the policy establishes requirements for staff, faculty and students to procure, develop and modify University websites so that they are accessible to people with disabilities. The University recognizes that websites and web-based applications are integral to the academic and administrative work of the University. This policy serves to address the needs of individuals with disabilities who wish to use the University’s websites and web-based applications to participate in University programs and activities and/or conduct University business. You are encouraged to register for an upcoming web accessibility information session to gain an understanding of the new policy and how it may impact your school, unit or department.
