Project Update: Next Generation Network (NGN) Program

May 17, 2018

The Next Generation Network (NGN) program is a multi-year capital project that will modernize Yale’s network security and aging network infrastructure. The project goals are to increase network stability and redundancy, automate security policy and real-time response to threats, enhance end user experience and network mobility, and target the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) - concept of interconnecting computing devices that can communicate with each other. In FY18, the project focus has been on the foundational components and planning work, in preparation for the kick-off in early FY19.  Look for additional communications about the program at upcoming IT Town Halls and department team meetings.
