Organizational Announcement - Yale Emergency Management
October 18, 2018
I am pleased to announce that George Hines has accepted the position as the director of emergency management, effective October 1. In his new role, George will report to me and will be responsible for all aspects of emergency planning, response, and recovery at Yale. Jen Nolan and Steve Woods will continue their roles within Emergency Management reporting to George, and he will also have oversight of the volunteer members of the emergency management committee.
Over the past eight years, his business acumen has helped to shape the direction of our dispatch and security systems at the university. Prior to joining Yale, George was the corporate director of investigations for Toys R Us. He joined the university in 2010, as the manager of security systems where he had oversight for the dispatch centers across the university. George was promoted to the director of public safety security systems and communications in 2013, where he oversees the dispatch centers, ID centers, security systems, project management and access control operations.
I’ve had the opportunity to work with George and I’m confident that he will bring his expertise and leadership to emergency management as he has throughout his career.
Please join me in congratulating George as he begins a new path forward in emergency management.
