Organizational Announcement - Yale Finance
October 17, 2018
After conducting a national search, I am very pleased to announce that Susannah Gobbi will be joining Yale as the University’s Chief Procurement Officer, reporting to me.
Susannah joins us with 20 years of experience at General Electric (GE) where she has held roles of progressively increasing responsibilities and scope, most recently as the Executive Global Indirect Sourcing Leader for GE Corporate and Capital. In this role, she was responsible for indirect sourcing totaling $3.5 billion for a number of GE operating units. She led a team of 24 staff that supported the procurement of a wide range of products and services to meet the diverse needs of these units. Prior to this role, Susannah held other senior roles at GE including as the Executive Vice President and Counsel for IT, Sourcing and Operations, and Executive Transformation Leader. Prior to her tenure at GE, Susannah worked as an associate at a law firm.
Susannah is a strong leader with a track record of developing staff, building strong relationships with people in the units she supports, implementing best practices, and driving for results. She received her B.A. in Political Science from Hartwick College and her J.D. in Intellectual Property from The John Marshall School of Law.
Susannah will join Yale on November 5, and will be located at 25 Science Park. When she arrives, I know she will be eager to understand how she can support faculty and staff across the campus and your procurement needs.
Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Susannah.
