DLP deployment to remaining systems - February 5
January 24, 2019
On Tuesday, February 5, beginning at 7:00 a.m., the Office of Information Security Policy and Compliance will deliver a rolling deployment of Yale’s Data Loss Prevention (DLP) service to selected individuals. This push will be targeted to individuals who were previously contacted about DLP deployment to their systems, but did not receive the software, as well as to any remaining members of ITS that do not have the DLP software installed. No action is required.
Data loss prevention software detects potential data breaches/data ex-filtration transmissions and prevents them by monitoring, detecting and blocking sensitive data while in-use (endpoint actions), in-motion (network traffic), and at-rest (data storage).
This is the revisit of any systems, individuals, departments, and lead administrators that were already contacted regarding their systems having DLP installed. For various reasons, (systems powered off, people on vacation, computer replacement, etc.), DLP was not installed as scheduled on these systems.
