Internship Season Kick Off

January 11, 2019

On Thursday, January 3, over 220 New Haven Promise Scholars met with staff representing 25 Yale departments at the sixth Annual New Haven Promise Internship & Career Fair. The students from New Haven met with Yale hiring managers to discuss their skill-sets and career interests, and they were encouraged to apply for internships, which is part of Yale’s ongoing partnership with the New Haven community.
Organized by Yale’s New Haven Hiring Initiative, New Haven Promise internships provide much needed work experience to Promise Scholars currently enrolled in college. The program, which aligns with Yale’s educational mission, also serves as a primary source to develop a talent pipeline for the university’s future staffing needs.
Internships provide valuable real-world work experiences for an emerging New Haven workforce and enable departments to complete important work while developing future practitioners in their field. We are excited to report that over 12 former New Haven Promise interns have been hired into full-time roles and are performing exceptionally well.
If your department is interested in employing an intern, please contact or visit the Internships web page on It’s Your Yale.  We would be delighted to connect you with fantastic students!
