ServiceNow London upgrade date change and improvements
January 24, 2019
The Service Management team has kicked off the upgrade of ServiceNow to the latest version: London. The primary goal of the effort is to bring the platform forward to the most current version and take advantage of new features and increased accessibility improvements. The new version uses the same interface that you are familiar with and the upgrade is designed to have no impact on your daily work.
Testing will continue through the end of January, with a planned go-live date of February 2, 2019.
One notable improvement at launch:
- IT partner branded emails to improve client experience
Future Improvements after launch:
- Change Advisory Board (CAB) Workbench
A central home for organizing, hosting and documenting CAB meetings. This will allow for changes to be seen in a calendar with blackout and maintenance dates. It will also allow for the change managers to approve directly in the Workbench — saving time in the CAB meetings.
- Increased accessibility
Although ServiceNow will not be fully Web Content Accessibility Guide (WCAG) 2.0 standard, level AA compliant during this release, they have increased accessibility features in London and have stated that they will be fully compliant with the standard by end of year 2019.
As always, ServiceNow office hours take place on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 10:00 a.m. to noon in 25 Science Park, room 439. Check dates by searching for ServiceNow on the Yale Calendar of Events.
