Yale ITS replacing the local admin password tool

Yale ITS is replacing the local admin password tool used by ITS on Thursday, January 24, from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. The upgrade from Managed Workstation (MW) Assistant’s password utility will occur automatically through Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).

After the upgrade, to obtain a local administrator password for ITS managed computers, IT partners and ITS support providers will need to use Microsoft Local Administrator Password Solution (Microsoft LAPS), the new tool. The current tool will no longer be available and passwords can only be retrieved using the new Microsoft LAPS tool.
