Computer Management system enhancement - February 24

Yale’s Information Technology Service will apply an enhancement to our Computer Management system during the scheduled maintenance window, from 7:00 – 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 24. No action is required on your part.
The enhancement allows Yale devices running our computer management tool, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), to check-in with and receive software updates when connected to the internet, without requiring connection to Yale’s virtual private network (VPN). This will enhance the reliability and security of managed devices when they are off campus.
Software installations in-progress when maintenance begins will complete normally. Individuals who attempt to install software through the tool during the maintenance window will see an on-screen message that the content is unavailable and will need to retry after the maintenance completes.
