CCI Charter Signing and IT-NEO

The Climate, Culture, and Inclusion (CCI) Task Force thanks all those who attended its charter-signing event on Wednesday, May 22. The event presented the task force’s charter — which describes its vision and objectives and includes our inaugural goals and action teams. Laurel German is leading a team to establish a baseline and goals. Samantha Beaudet and Grace Petegorsky are organizing a team focusing on retaining our IT talent. The third action team’s mission is ensuring fairness of opportunity. This team — its’ co-chairs to-be-determined — also has a specific goal of identifying training and education opportunities; Debra Houle is leading this effort. We invited interested staff to join these action teams. more information about the action teasm and their work will be included in future editions of IT Update.
Our next event, IT New Employee Orientation, occurs on Thursday, June 6, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at 25 Science Park, room 446 -near the fourth-floor kitchen area. This orientation will introduce some of the major IT services at Yale, present an overview of the type of services our groups provide, and introduce various Yale resources available to employees. John Barden and Ryan Schlagheck, members of the IT senior leadership team and CCI sponsors, will welcome attendees and present informative information related to IT departments and CCI initiatives. Members of each action team will describe their team’s goals. Other task force members will also be presenting on assorted topics.
New employees and their managers are welcome, and others on a first come, first served basis. We may adjust the frequency of IT New Employee Orientation events in the future based on the demand from ITS staff.
