Yale Printing and Publishing awarded for great work
August 15, 2019
It’s been a great year so far for Yale Printing & Publishing Services (YPPS).
In April, they hosted the Association of College and University Printers 54th Annual Conference in New Haven. The event featured keynote speakers, breakout sessions, and a vendor fair. Attendees numbered over 100, and came from all over the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., to represent 85 academic institutions and 40 industry partners.
During the event, YPPS won two first-place awards in the canvas / fabrics and wide format / poster categories for the Yale Founder’s Day and Tanner Lecture posters. In addition, Yale was presented with the A-Cup award - eligible only to colleges and universities that host the event. The A-Cup had not been presented in over 10 years, so it was a great honor for YPPS to receive it.
In June, YPPS won two more awards at the In-Plant Printing & Mailing Association (IPMA) Conference. This annual conference gathers in-plant printers and mail operators to consult, learn, and interact with each other. The two IPMA awards included: a gold award for a stationery package printed on digital equipment for Loughlin Fitzgerald, and a bronze award in the booklet category (48 pages or fewer with cover) for the Yale Divinity School Andover Newton Seminary booklet.
“This event is exciting to attend, as we always learn much from our peers, as well as share our knowledge and experience with them,” said YPPS associate director Frank Savino. As a conference attendee since 2012 and frequent presenter, this year, IPMA requested Frank to chair the upcoming 2020 Awards Committee.
Kudos to the entire YPPS team!
