Finance Data Mart is now Live!

January 29, 2020

The first phase of the new Finance Data Mart is now live via the Power BI Report Server. The Data Mart provides business office staff with easier access to financial data through interactive reporting.

The data available is primarily financial transaction details. CCFA role holders, who currently export Detailed Transactions – Yale from Workday to Excel will gain value now using the Finance Dart Mart in Power BI.

Future phases will include budgets, balances, forecasts, more detailed transaction-level data, procurement data, and grant data. If this is the data that meets your needs, training will be offered in the fall when that data is expected to be available to build upon your knowledge of financial reporting and gain a better understanding of the Power BI reporting tool.

Currently Available

Currently, the Expenses by Employee and Interactive Financial Activity reports are available. The latter includes (4) tabs with the following sub-reports; posted actuals, commitments, and obligations are available.

  • Trend by Payee
  • Trend of Spend
  • Transaction Detail
  • Trend of Commitments and Obligations

Upcoming

Next, the Financial Activity and Balances report (FAB) will be delivered. This report will be paginated and can be subscribed to and distributed via email. The FAB will provide a package of financial reports for a specific set of Workday worktag (or CoA) parameters, similar to the legacy Account Holder by PTAEO report. There will be training offered specifically for this report as we approach the release of this report.
