OESD launches Data Informed Decision Making course

January 24, 2020

After months of collaboration and brainstorming, Organizational Effectiveness and Staff Development (OESD) is excited to offer a new and improved Data Informed Decision Making course to entry and mid-level managerial and professional staff. According to Stephanie Gosteli, Associate Director, OESD, the newly developed curriculum changed from a data-driven to a data-informed approach, to better meet the needs of participants—providing them with the knowledge and skills to get their jobs done more effectively and to make them aware of the resources available to them.

A special kudos to Deirdre Stowe, Senior OD Consultant, for her collaboration with Maureen Velazquez, Data Governance Manager, ITS Reporting and Analytics, along with many others, who worked together to bring the class to fruition and make it applicable to the Yale community. Stowe reached out to business offices across campus to gain a better understanding of what they need to make data-informed decisions. Working together with Maureen and an external resource, they’ve created a course that will provide staff with the insights and motivation to make quality data analysis a vital part of their decision support/ recommendation(s) and decision-making activities.
