Protecting your online identity with DUO Everywhere

Protecting your online identity

In the weeks since we have been working remotely, Yale has experienced a substantial increase in attempts to compromise NetIDs. This puts our intellectual property, faculty research data, and personal information at heightened risk.

Yale has been working to address these challenges as part of a multi-year cybersecurity strengthening program, and is ready to begin implementing changes that will significantly improve email security to protect your online identity.

DUO Everywhere opt-in

In the next few weeks, ITS team members will be invited to opt into DUO Everywhere. The DUO Everywhere opt-in tool will guide you step-by-step through the enrollment process and device setup while providing detailed information on what to expect.

When you opt in, you will begin authenticating with DUO both on-campus and off-campus. Systems that use Yale’s Central Authentication Service (CAS) or Microsoft’s Office 365 will require DUO to authenticate your identity. This includes Outlook, Teams, Skype for Business, and OneDrive.

You will need to have a DUO-registered device with you at all times when you are working.  If you are working remotely, your DUO prompts will be less frequent when you enroll in DUO Everywhere.
