Tech Talks: Introduction to PowerShell - Hands On! (2 hours)
Wednesday, May 27
Please join Elvin Torres, Senior Operating Systems Programmer, ITS Platform Services & Support for this virtual Tech Talk via Zoom for a two-hour, hands-on “Introduction to PowerShell” scripting.
PowerShell is rapidly becoming a cross-platform (Windows macOS, and Linux) command shell and scripting language that can fill many needs. Whether you’re updating registry settings on workstations, querying a database and generating Excel spreadsheets, reconfiguring servers hosted in VMware, or deploying entire application stacks in Microsoft Azure, PowerShell can help you deliver fast and consistent results.
In this Tech Talk, you will be introduced to the PowerShell language, learn how to use the built-in help system, how to execute commands, filter out unwanted results, and experience the power of the pipeline in an interactive environment. You may also learn a trick or two that will enhance your daily PowerShell experience.
All attendees will be given access to a virtual lab. No software required on your laptop.
