Each session features one of a wide variety of topics targeted toward IT professionals. The team also promotes other staff development opportunities. Please join Sascha Mangs and Greg Mackinnon, both Senior Information Security Developers for ITS Information Security for a presentation about the tools they created entitled “Modern Log Analysis Using Elastic Stack”.

Modern IT infrastructures can generate log events varying from thousands to millions of events per second. Processing and analysis of these events is critical to maintaining operational stability and security. In this tech talk, we will discuss the challenges that large-scale log processing deployments must overcome. You then will learn how these challenges were solved within Yale’s Information Security Department using the Elastic Stack and Apache Kafka.

Additionally, continue your training and development on the IT Academy: Recommended Online Training web page. This resource includes recommended online courses, to enable staff to continue their training and development remotely. IT staff are encouraged to work with their manager to create a personalized development plan.

Using Microsoft Teams to Manage Your Projects

On Tuesday, June 2, from 1:30—2:30 p.m., join the Project Management Community of Practice, virtually through Zoom, where Apriel Biggs-Coker and Amy Keach will provide training on “Using Microsoft Teams to Manage Your Projects”. They will provide practical tips and approaches to leverage Microsoft Teams capabilities.
