New Lead Administrator joins Jackson Institute

The Jackson Institute for Global Affairs is excited to welcome Alexa Schlieker as their new lead administrator. She will start the position on July 1, 2020.

Alexa’s ten years at Yale in a variety of roles prepared her for the wide range of programming and activities at the Jackson Institute. Her first three years, she served as a process design and quality improvement lead in Shared Services. She moved to an operations manager position for multiple FAS departments in 2013. Between 2015 and 2020, Alexa has been the operations manager for the FAS Dean’s Office and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. During that time, she acquired many of the budgetary, analytical, and administrative processes and skills needed to run the financial operations of a Yale department.

Alexa received her undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Bonn and an M.A. in Economics from the University of Freiburg in Germany. She speaks multiple languages and is excited to be working with the  Jackson Institute in this pivotal time as it transitions to a school.
