eShipGlobal Enhances Inbound Shipment Process
August 19, 2020
Beginning Friday, August 28, 2020, the University’s express shipping tool, eShipGlobal, will implement a new process to streamline inbound shipments to Yale. With this enhancement, the Yale person expecting a shipment will be responsible for creating the inbound shipment details. The person shipping from outside of Yale will no longer be required to answer multiple questions about the shipment, nor fill out the shipping form.
To accommodate this enhancement, eShipGlobal will be unavailable for new shipment creation on Thursday, August 27 between 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Eastern time.
If you manage inbound shipments through eShipGlobal and work with non-Yale Collaborators, please note the following updates:
-
The Yale person will invite the external shipping person(s) as a Collaborator.
-
After an invitation has been sent, the invited Collaborator will register an account on eShipGlobal (in the same way they do today.)
-
Once a new Collaborator is registered, the Yale person will prepare the inbound shipment for the external person(s).
-
When the inbound shipment is prepared and submitted, the Collaborator will be notified via email.
-
The Collaborator will login to eShipGlobal and review the shipment details to confirm accuracy.
-
Once confirmed, the Collaborator prints the shipping label and all required documents and prepares the shipment.
Persons currently registered in eShip Global as Collaborators will not need to re-register, however, beginning Friday, August 28, they will need to review and confirm shipments. Current Collaborators may still receive an invite to register, but the system will present a message “successfully registered” once the Collaborator clicks on the link.
Compliance on all shipments will continue to be monitored.
