MSS Roadshow update & MSS 301 coming soon

March 18, 2021

Thank you for your enthusiastic participation in both MSS 101 and MSS 201 classes. MSS 201 wrapped up in early February with 280 participants. To date, the total attendance is over 750 people for the two courses. These courses are part of the MSS Roadshow curriculum that debuted in ITS in September.

We look forward to introducing MSS 301 in mid-April. MSS 301 brings together principles learned in MSS 101 and 201. The class teaches how to interpret or “do” the MSS. It is a hands-on, interactive course focused on creating an MSS game plan. Participants will learn the step-by-step process to create a collaborative MSS plan.

The following roles require MSS 301:

  • System Support Providers
  • System Decision Makers (i.e., Services Owners and Service Offering Managers)

We strongly recommend that project managers (PMs) attend the course because they may receive some of the roles and responsibilities of doing the MSS via delegation. This delegation would come from what we have termed the System Decision Maker. System Decision Makers for ITS are typically our service owners or offering managers.

MSS 301 is optional for those in other roles within ITS. Please check with your supervisor to determine if taking the course would be helpful. Look out for registration information for MSS 301 starting in late March.
