Scheduled maintenance - Antivirus (Cylance) upgrade - March 11 - March 18

- ITS will perform rolling upgrades of the Cylance Antivirus software beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 11 (for all ITS computers with Cylance Antivirus software installed) and 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 18 (for all remaining devices). This maintenance will continue for several days.
- No action is required for individuals using Yale’s antivirus solution; however, you may notice the antivirus icon flickering briefly.
Our Antivirus vendor, Cylance, requires this upgrade, which allows Yale to meet/maintain Yale University security standards and includes support for the new macOS Big Sur.
The Cylance Antivirus software upgrade impacts both Microsoft Windows and macOS devices managed by Yale IT professionals.
What should I expect?
There will be no visible changes to the interface, although the system tray icon may flicker briefly while the service is started and stopped again.
