Global Accessibility Awareness Day celebration and contest

April 7, 2021

Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) marks its tenth anniversary on Thursday, May 20, 2021. To celebrate, Yale’s Digital Accessibility Team (YDA) is hosting an accessibility training contest.

Whether your role is business analyst, content creator, designer, developer, project manager, or quality assurance, our on-demand accessibility training helps you create a first-rate digital experience on the web for people with disabilities. Please share this information with those individuals in your area who may need this information.

From now until Thursday, May 20 (Global Accessibility Awareness Day) for every course you complete and pass the subsequent quiz, up to five courses, you will be entered into a raffle. The YDA team will pull raffle tickets for ten Grubhub vouchers worth $25 each. Training sessions completed before this promotion count toward a raffle entry.

All Accessibility Trainings are available now complete with quizzes and ready to watch.

Don’t miss our GAAD celebration with Sarah Lynch and Kara Franco on Thursday, May 20, 12:00 - 1:15 p.m. on Zoom. Learn more about GAAD, how to promote accessibility on your team, and play a round of accessibility trivia!

The raffle will be held during the GAAD event. The YDA team will notify raffle winners who are not in attendance.

Websites and web applications are integral to the university’s academic and administrative work. Yale is committed to making information, programs, and activities on its websites and web applications accessible to people with disabilities. Please join us in improving this effort by participating in the contest and attending our GAAD discussion on Thursday, May 20.
