“Delivering IIIF Images at Scale” with Jeff Campbell and Seong-June Kim

Wednesday, May 5
3:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Please join Jeff Campbell and Seong-June Kim for this Tech Talk. They will introduce the International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF) and an overview of how Yale implemented this at scale.

Yale’s museums house millions of objects which are of artistic and scholarly value the world over. The Content Delivery Service (CDS) is a custom-built ITS-managed service shared among the Yale Center for British Art, the Yale Peabody Museum, and the Yale University Art Gallery.

Yale recently upgraded and enhanced this service, CDS2, to provide the museums a mechanism to create and server images that comply with the IIIF standards, a set of shared application program interface (API) specifications for interoperable functionality in digital-asset repositories. Implementing these standards enables better, faster, and cheaper image delivery.
