Reminder: Don't forget to register for MSS 301

April 29, 2021

MSS 301 classes are in full swing; remember to register for an upcoming class - requires connection to Yale’s Virtual Private Network (VPN).

When registering, please check to see if seats are available, and do not register for a course with 0 seats remaining.

This hands-on, interactive class is the last course of our Minimum Security Standards (MSS) Roadshow and focuses on how to interpret or “do” the MSS.

Participants will learn the five-step process to make an MSS game plan. In addition, the course teaches how to build a shared responsibility model.

The following roles require MSS 301:

  • System Support Providers
  • System Decision Makers (i.e., Services Owners and Service Offering Managers)

We strongly recommend that project managers (PMs) attend the course because they may receive some of the roles and responsibilities of doing the MSS via delegation. This delegation would come from what we have termed the System Decision Maker. System Decision Makers for ITS are typically our service owners or offering managers.

MSS 301 is optional for those in other roles within ITS. Please check with your supervisor to determine if taking the course would be helpful.
