Hiring Spotlight - New Haven Hiring Initiative

Congratulations to Sage Dowty, who was recently hired as a full-time office assistant with the Parking and Transit Operations Department. She was a New Haven Hiring Initiative (NHHI) Trainee providing faculty support at the Yale School of Management (SOM).
Sage joined Yale in February 2019 as a part-time office assistant. After completing the Gateway to Employment program, the New Haven Hiring Initiative (NHHI) team partnered with SOM to place her into the New Haven Resident Trainee program. As a part of this program, candidates get an opportunity to spend 12 months in one or more departments getting the hands-on experience needed for regular employment at Yale.
Sage was the first New Haven resident that was placed in this program. After spending ten months supporting various projects and expanding her skill set, she secured regular employment at the University. Just before Parking and Transit hired her, we featured her in our NHHI newsletter.
