New IT Support Service Center coming to YSM

Beginning on Thursday, November 3, Yale students, faculty, and staff can receive free audio-visual (A/V) and information technology (IT) support at a newly established Technology Support Service Center at the Yale School of Medicine’s (YSM) Cushing/Whitney Medical Library. Developed over the last six months by the Technology Support Services group, through collaboration with the Cushing/Whitney Medical Library staff, the new Technical Support Center intends to adapt to the Yale Community’s changing A/V and IT needs.

We invite members of the Yale community to join us at our grand opening ceremony on Thursday, November 3, from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m., in the lower level of Cushing/Whitney Medical Library, room SHM L E20. The ceremony will include light refreshments, giveaways, technology demonstrations in both A/V and IT, and opening remarks (beginning at 10:30 a.m.) from Yale leadership.

Services offered include:

  • A/V equipment pickup and drop off (specifically for YSM A/V spaces)
  • Device purchasing guidance and advice (a Yale community service)
  • Email, VPN, WIFI, and remote work setup
  • Multifactor Authentication (DUO) assistance
  • NetID and password reset assistance
  • Short-term loaner device service (a Yale community service)
  • Specialty equipment pickup
  • Storage options and setup
  • Support for Yale workstations (for Managed Workstation and Yale-owned devices; no personal computers)
  • Technology orientations
  • Zoom and Zoom room assistance

The Center will provide A/V and IT support by appointment or on a walk-in basis, from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
