Yale Hub to Replace Student Information System (SIS) in June 2023

    Summary

    The existing student platform, Yale Hub (yub.yale.edu), will replace the student self-service portal, Student Information System (SIS), sis.yale.edu, in June. All self-service pages currently available in SIS are already accessible via the Yale Hub. Effective immediately, any links to sis.yale.edu should be updated to yub.yale.edu.

    Work is currently underway to upgrade the underlying technology for student self-service pages from Banner 8 to Banner 9; once that upgrade work is complete, SIS will be deprecated. Students who still have sis.yale.edu bookmarked will be redirected to Yale Hub.

    Details

    Ellucian, the Banner provider, announced an end-of-life support date for the Banner 8 technology on which the Student Information System (SIS) relies. Yale Hub, an accessible, modern tool already used by Yale students will replace the Student Information System as the main portal through which students can access self-service functionality. Individual self-service pages still using Banner 8 technology are being upgraded to Banner 9 technology which will keep Yale’s versions current, provide access to new Banner features, ensure Ellucian support, provide improved accessibility, and support an improved mobile-friendly user experience for these critical student self-service pages.

    Many pages have already been upgraded to Banner 9; all remaining pages are targeted to migrate by mid-June. As a final step in this upgrade, the Student Information System (SIS) will be deprecated no later than June 30.  This plan avoids the critical end of term blackout and will ease the transition away from the SIS menu. Organizations that include the sis.yale.edu URL in their communications are encouraged to update their documents to yub.yale.edu immediately.

    Effective immediately, any of the following URL references to the Student Information System should be updated to Yale Hub.
