A shared understanding of FY24 IT priorities

May 11, 2023

In April, IT leaders from across the University gathered for a structured conversation to share significant efforts planned across IT at Yale for FY24, including initiatives at the university’s professional schools, as well as ITS portfolio and operational projects. By exposing the work within each IT unit, this Integrated Plan Review facilitated a shared understanding of priorities across IT and identified overlapping projects, highlighting opportunities for collaboration.

The presentations showcased the diversity of IT initiatives across campus, ranging from the addition of 3D printers at the School of Architecture to the launch of LUX, the university’s new cross-collection discovery platform that will connect scholars and researchers around the world to Yale’s extensive Cultural Heritage collections.

Emerging themes across IT units included:

  • Leveraging artificial intelligence to enable and support services
  • Increasing customer engagement with faculty, students, staff, and business units
  • Improving onboarding and offboarding processes in a multifaceted environment
  • Continuing upgrades to classroom technology capabilities
  • Data collection and management
  • Maturing portfolio and program management practices, including the launch of the Operations Portfolio Management Office [“OPMO”]

Given the positive feedback to the Integrated Plan Review as a Balanced Scorecard initiative, IT Leadership is exploring options to operationalize this meeting as an annual event.
