The New Haven Hiring Initiative (NHHI) recently participated in two well-attended community events in the Dixwell Community, showcasing its commitment to local engagement and support.

On Saturday, June 8th, 2024, the NHHI supported the New Haven Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and Epsilon Iota Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.., during their 12th Annual Free Market & Health Fair. Hundreds of attendees took home gently used and new clothing, household items, and toiletries. The event also featured numerous resource tables focusing on health, wellness, and employment. Representatives from the NHHI and Yale’s African American Affinity group provided valuable information regarding employment at Yale and resources available to employees through Yale’s nine-employee Affinity Groups. Community members received flyers detailing current openings in Clerical and Technical, Service and Maintenance, and Managerial opportunities.
