Yale Security receives accreditation for third year

July 1, 2024

Yale Security recently received full accreditation for the third year by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).

To maintain accreditation, Yale Security undergoes an annual quality performance review that includes identifying changes to current procedures and ensuring that performance standards continue to meet CALEA’s high standard.

Yale Security began the five-step accreditation process in 2020 receiving accreditation in 2022 with one provision and accreditation in 2023 with no provisions.

After four years of accreditation, agencies have to complete the full accreditation process.

Yale Security is one of seven non-sworn agencies accredited by CALEA and is the largest non-sworn, unarmed agency, second to New York University, an armed agency.
