Lisa Merola-Grimm is responsible for the Financial Planning and Analysis department. This role includes managing Yale’s 10-year strategic long-range plan, leading the university’s annual operating budget, developing the university’s capital plan, providing high-level financial analysis to university leaders, proactively partnering with program leaders on financial priorities, and monitoring actual costs. Lisa is also the lead administrator for Finance and Business Operations, Human Resources, and Public Safety. This includes managing the business operations functions for these three planning units, including budgeting and monitoring financial results.
Lisa has been at Yale since 1998 and previously served as a regional director in Business Operations, where she was the lead administrator for Yale Health and responsible for overseeing business operations support for the School of Nursing and the Divinity School. Before Yale Health, she worked in the Budget Office as a senior financial analyst, where she was responsible for the long-range financial plan as well as the budget analysis for a variety of schools and units. Lisa has a B.S. in finance from the University of Connecticut and an M.B.A. and Master of Education from the University of Hartford.
The Financial Planning and Analysis office supports the mission of the university by providing accurate, timely, high-quality financial analysis and advice to the decision-makers at Yale. The office reports to the vice president for Finance and chief financial officer.
