
Lauren Slater is the Senior Director of Employee Relations, leading a team of Associate Directors and HR Business Partners that provide HR strategic support and solutions for departmental business needs for the Yale School of Medicine (YSM).
Lauren has been a member of the Yale community since 2007, bringing extensive experience and dedication to her various roles within Human Resources. She began her journey at Yale in Staffing and Career Development and then moved to the Yale School of Medicine’s business offices, gaining valuable perspective and appreciation for operational functions. In 2012, Lauren transitioned to central HR/Employee Relations and has since provided HR business partner support to various organizations across the university, including Finance and Business Operations, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and Central Academic Units.
Most recently, Lauren was an Associate Director in Employee Relations for the School of Medicine where she has been instrumental in managing a team responsible for YSM staff across central business administration. She has led significant initiatives such as the Position Evaluation Partnership Committee (PEP-C), the Performance Management segment of the Managing at Yale Essentials training, and various Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging initiatives within YSM.
Lauren holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with a concentration in Human Resources from Eastern Connecticut State University.
Lauren is a proud mother of two children, and when away from the office, she enjoys coaching her children’s sports teams and spending time with family.
