A message from Chief Ronnell A. Higgins
To the Yale Community,
I write to let you know of an armed robbery that occurred at approximately 3:07 pm in the vicinity of Canal and Henry Streets. A New Haven resident was walking on the canal line when he was approached by two unknown men. The two brandished a handgun, threatened the victim, and demanded his property. The victim complied. The unknown men fled toward Hamden. One individual was dressed entirely in black and the other wore a colorful jacket and jeans. No physical injuries were reported. The New Haven Police are investigating. The Yale Police have increased patrols in the area and are working with the New Haven Police to identify those responsible.
