Public Safety Advisory - Attempted Robbery and Assault, April 24, 2023

A message from Chief Anthony Campbell

To the Yale Community,

I write to let you know of an attempted robbery and assault that occurred last evening at 6:45 p.m. on the canal line near 344 Winchester Ave. A man, not affiliated with the university, was riding his bike when he was blocked by a group of teens who assaulted him with a rock and tried to take his bike. He suffered minor injuries. Yale Police responded and were able to identify the individuals responsible.

The Yale Police have increased patrols in the area.
